Diamond Mesh Lath – Premium Reinforcement Material for Plastering & Rendering

Diamond mesh lath is an expanded metal mesh made from galvanized steel sheets through cutting and stretching (punching expansion), forming uniform diamond openings. These openings provide abundant anchoring points, ensuring strong adhesion of plaster, mortar, and other materials to substrate surfaces – particularly ideal for rendering on wood and masonry structures.

This mesh lath offers excellent tensile strength and flexibility while remaining easy to bend and shape, making it suitable for covering curved and irregular surfaces.

Type

  • Flat diamond mesh lath: Its uniform mesh openings offers enhanced plaster adhesion and flat edges facilitate easy installation.
  • Self-furring dimpled diamond metal lath: It is an expanded metal mesh with raised dimples, maintaining a 1/4" spacing from the substrate to improve plaster adhesion without additional supports.
  • Self-furring V groove diamond metal lath: It incorporates evenly spaced V-grooves (1/4" depth) running the length of the panel, ensuring superior mechanical bonding with plaster.
  • Paper backed diamond metal lath: Asphalt paper-backed prevents moisture penetration during plaster curing. Available in flat, self-furring dimpled and self-furring v groove diamond mesh lath configurations.

Features

  • High-strength structure. Unique hexagonal wire stems and V-shaped ribs enhance its load-bearing capacity.
  • Reinforced edge ribs. Widened edge ribs improve bending resistance for stable installation.
  • Superior corrosion resistance. Galvanized construction adapts to diverse building environments.
  • Easy installation. Seamless one-piece design ensures robust structure and simple construction.

Application

Diamond mesh lath is extensively used for plaster reinforcement on walls, ceilings, and roofs. It effectively enhances coating adhesion, prevents cracking, and improves overall structural stability, making it a reliable and commonly used metal substrate material in construction plastering projects. Dimpled and V-grooved diamond metal lath is generally used in applications over solid surfaces such as gypsum, concrete and wood sheathing block.
